Therapy for Children and Young People
When working with children and young people, therapy is adapted to meet their stage of development, emotional needs, and unique way of experiencing the world. Unlike adult counselling, which often relies on conversation alone, therapy with younger clients may incorporate creative approaches such as play, art, games, storytelling, or other age-appropriate activities to help them express thoughts and feelings that can be difficult to put into words. Sessions are tailored to help children and adolescents feel safe, understood, and supported as they develop emotional awareness, resilience, and healthy coping strategies. Where appropriate, parents or carers may also be involved to support the young person's progress, while always respecting confidentiality and the therapeutic relationship.

Every child and young person is unique, and they may not always have the words to explain how they are feeling. I offer a warm, accepting and non-judgemental space where they can explore their emotions at their own pace. Together, we can work towards helping them better understand themselves, build confidence, develop healthy coping strategies, and navigate life's challenges with greater resilience.
