About me

My approach

My experience

I am dedicated to supporting young people (ages 8–18) and adults through life's challenges. My practice is built on a foundation of warmth, empathy, and genuine human connection. I believe that everyone deserves a space where they feel truly heard and safe to explore their thoughts and feelings without judgement.

I believe that the needs of every client are different and I adapt my sessions to these needs, using a combination of Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

I have worked as a counsellor in a number of organisations and charities alongside private practice, providing counselling to adults and young people. I support my adult clients with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, trauma and bereavement and I am also trained in supportting adults affected by rape and sexual abuse.

I have a long history working in education and in supporting children and young people through a combination of Person-Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Many of the children and young people that I work with struggle with self-harm, suicidal ideation, bullying, anxiety, depression and low self-esteem and I use a range of techniques to create a relaxed and comfortable space where they feel safe to open up.

With children younger than 8 years old, I can work with parents, offering guidance and practical strategies to help support their children with anxiety and behavioural challenges. In addition, I provide training and support for education staff, helping them develop confidence and understanding in identifying and responding to the wellbeing needs of their young people.

My passion

I have extensive training and experience in supporting neurodivergent clients, with a particular focus on working with young people and adults who are autistic, ADHD, or exploring a possible diagnosis. I also support clients who are adjusting to or making sense of a recent diagnosis, offering a space for reflection, understanding, and self-acceptance.

My approach is neuroaffirming, meaning I adapt therapy to suit the client's individual way of experiencing and processing the world. I aim to create sessions that feel accessible, supportive, and respectful of my client's unique strengths, needs, and communication style.

Compliance

I am a member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists and the British Psychological Society and work in accordance with their Ethical Guidelines and Framework. I have a DBS, indemnity insurance and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

I regularly attend supervision, where I will discuss my client caseload with my supervisor to ensure that I am working ethically and in accordance with BACP guidelines. Client details are always anonymous.
