What is Therapy?
How can therapy help?
Therapy is a regular time each week where we meet and focus on you. You can talk about anything that feels important – recent events, past experiences, relationships, school, work, or how you see yourself.
In our sessions, we might:
-
Explore your thoughts and feelings in a gentle, non‑judgemental way
-
Notice patterns that keep you feeling stuck
-
Build tools to manage difficult emotions and situations
-
Work towards feeling more confident and settled in yourself
Therapy doesn’t give quick fixes, but over time it can help you feel more understood, more in control, and more able to cope.
If you’d like to talk about whether therapy is right for you, you are welcome to get in touch.

What Is Person‑Centred Therapy?
Person‑Centred Therapy is a way of working that puts you at the centre. You are the expert on your own life.
In person‑centred therapy:
-
You choose what we talk about
-
There is no judgement or pressure to be a certain way
-
We focus on how things feel for you right now
-
The relationship between us is an important part of the work
This approach can be especially helpful if you’ve felt misunderstood, judged, or not listened to in the past. Over time, many people find they feel more able to trust themselves and make choices that fit who they really are.

What Is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) looks at the links between your thoughts, feelings, body and behaviour. It can help you notice unhelpful patterns and try out new ways of responding.
In CBT, we might:
-
Explore the thoughts that show up in certain situations
-
Notice how those thoughts affect your feelings and actions
-
Learn practical tools to manage anxiety, low mood or stress
-
Set small, realistic goals between sessions
CBT is often structured and focused on specific difficulties, such as anxiety or depression. Many people like that it offers clear strategies they can use in everyday life.
